02/25/05 2006 Mazda MX-5 Update Further details are emerging about the all new Mazda MX-5. As with most modern FR cars the engine has been pushed further back resulting in a near 50:50 weight distribution. The 2006 MX-5 has a 47 percent increase in torsional rigidity. This has resulted in an increase in weight, but hopefully the new range of engines will minimise the effect. A range topping 2 litre engine producing 158bhp and 139 lb/ft of torque will be offered alongside a 1.8 litre option.
